West Side Volunteers Needed to Plant 100 Trees Along West 38th Street on March 30
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) is planning to plant 100 trees in the medians on West 38th Street from I-465 west on March 30 and needs your help.
"KIB has asked me to recruit 100 volunteers for this project," Janice McHenry, City-County Councillor, District 6, said. "But, this does not mean you'll plant a tree by yourself. Everyone will be in groups of four or five to plant three or four trees. The trees, tools, and mulch will be in place when you arrive at the median. An expert from KIB will demonstrate how to prepare the tree, dig the hole, put the dirt back in and place it with the mulch around the base of the tree."
Tree-planting volunteers will meet at 8:45 a.m. on the Marsh parking lot, south of 38th Street and west of I-465. Planting will be completed by 12 noon.
