West Side Chamber Gears Up for Summer Networking
Members Networking
The West Side Chamber is stepping up to the plate with opportunities for west side business people to networking during the summer months. First, is the open house Thursday night at Expedite and Pike Medical Consultants Clinic from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m.
Next is the June 28th monthly networking meeting at the Decatur Elementary Learning Center with a program by Training, Inc.
Then July winds up with a networking meeting at the American Cancer Society's offices on West 96th Street.
Here's Your Last Chance to Hear Homestead Credit's Impact
June 18th is your last opportunity as a homeowner to hear about the Homestead Credit's impact on you and ask questions of the Homestead Credit Commission, before the City-County Council votes on the issue on June 24.
The public meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Ben Davis High School auditorium, 1200 North Girls School Road. Attendees are asked to enter at door #2 on the 10th Street side of the building.
At this meeting, the commission will:
  • Present information to explain what the Homestead Credit is and what it is not
  • Offer information that shows how elimination of the Homestead Credit would affect homeowners
  • Present information about why elimination of the Homestead Credit is being considered and what its effect would be
  • Take questions and suggestions from the public

Airline Publications Highlight Lafayette Square Area 1
In-Flight magazines Delta Sky and AirTran Go have highlighted the Lafayette Square area recently. In a special Indianapolis section in its May 2013 issue, Delta Sky named International Marketplace as one of top four essential stops. See Delta Sky.
AirTran's Go magazine featured a full page on Street Scene of Lafayette Square and several retail businesses, plus mention of Mexican music scene near 38th Street and Lafayette Square on Local Faces page, plus photo of Saraga. See AirTran Go.
Wayne Township Education Foundation Holds Golf Outing June 17 1
The Wayne Township Education Foundation (WTEF) invites you to its 17th Annual Tee Up For Education Golf Outing at the Country Club of Indianapolis on June 17. Morning shotgun start tees off at 8 a.m. Golfers will be treated to lunch and will be eligible to win prizes. Beacon of Hope Will Host B2B Breakfast June 21 at The Country Club of Indianapolis

Beacon of Hope Center for Women, Inc., will be hosting a "Lead the Way" B2B Breakfast on Friday, June 21 from 7 to 9 a.m. on Friday, June 21 at The Country Club of Indianapolis, 2801 Country Club Road. Indy Parks Bring Free Summer Concerts to Eagle Creek Park Eagle Creek Park
In Concert with Nature musical presentations this summer will feature local folk musicians performing riverside at the Point in Eagle Creek Park, 7840 West 56th Street. The concerts will be held on alternating Wednesdays beginning at 6:30 p.m. The schedule of musicians is:

City-County Councillor McHenry to Feature Judges at June 29 Town Hall Meeting Scales of justice
City-County Councillor Janice Shattuck McHenry will feature Marion County Superior Court judges at a quarterly town hall meeting on Saturday, June 29 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Indianapolis Colts complex, 7001 West 56th Street. The judges will talk about the court system, the courts over which they preside, and the challenges they face.
City Announces New Schedule for Saturday ToxDrops
The Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced a new schedule for ToxDrop locations. West Side residents can unload household hazardous waste on the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Traders Point Collection Facility, 7550 North Lafayette Road. Residents may drop off household hazardous waste at the West Street Collection Facility, 1725 West Street on Tuesday and Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Find additional information at www.indy.gov/toxdrop.
Non-Profit Pike Roundtable to Meet July 2 at Pike Library
If you volunteer for or lead a non-profit or are simply interested in the non-profit community in Pike Township, you are invited to join the next meeting of the Non-Profit Pike Roundtable on Tuesday, July 2 at 10 a.m. at the Pike Library, 6525 Zionsville Road. Indianapolis Airport Authority Announces Improved Parking Program at IND
IAA officials have announced enhanced premium, hourly, and promotional garage parking options, a new customer rewards program, improved passenger shuttles, a $9-per-day flat rate for all surface lot parking, and other customer-oriented improvements. Taste of Hendricks County Will Feature 20-Plus Restaurants July 11
Taste of Hendricks County will feature edible delights of more than 20 restaurants on Thursday, July 11 at Five Star Catering at Primo West in Plainfield. Advance tickets for $25 are available now at the Hendricks County Flyer and other locations. Tickets for $30 will be available at the door. Proceeds will benefit Leadership Hendricks County and Hendricks County Community Foundation. For more information, call 317-272-5800.
